The City of Calhoun City MS, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Police Chief

Police Chief is a full time salaried position. The person in this position is on call seven days a week. The position has accountability for budgetary, safety and legal issues related to the police department. The person in this position should have at least two years of college or more along with Mississippi Law Enforcement Association Certification. Ten years of administrative experience is preferred for the position. Additional qualifications include a commitment to the community and knowledge of small town policing, Administrative professionalism as well as clerical and communication skills with the citizens and police officers. The Police Chief should have the ability to attract and maintain a well-qualified workforce.

Salary is based on education and work experience.

Assistant Police Chief, City of Columbus, MS

The City of Columbus, Mississippi, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Assistant Police Chief. A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited college or university is required; a minimum of fifteen (15) years of law enforcement experience is required, in addition to a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in law enforcement at the Captain level or above at a department with a minimum of 70 sworn law enforcement officers at a city with a population comparable to Columbus, and experience in developing community-based public safety.

Salary range is $62,000 – $66,000 per year.
